AI IN SMART CITIES: ENHANCING URBAN LIVING

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly pivotal role in the development of smart cities, offering innovative solutions to urban challenges and enhancing the quality of life for residents. This paper explores the transformative potential of AI in creating more efficient, sustainable, and livable cities by examining its applications in three key areas: traffic management, waste management, and public safety. The integration of AI technologies, such as adaptive traffic signal control, predictive traffic modeling, AI-powered waste sorting, and predictive policing, has shown significant improvements in urban mobility, environmental sustainability, and crime reduction. However, the deployment of AI in smart cities also raises important challenges and ethical considerations, including privacy concerns, data security, digital divide, and the need for inclusive policies. By addressing these issues and fostering responsible AI deployment, smart cities can harness the full potential of AI to create a more equitable and sustainable urban future.
