Abstract

As the world grapples with the complex challenges posed by urbanization, climate change, and resource depletion, the imperative for sustainable infrastructure development has never been more pressing. In this context, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies offers unprecedented opportunities to revolutionize the planning, design, construction, and management of infrastructure systems. This paper explores the multifaceted role of AI in driving sustainable infrastructure development and management, examining its potential to enhance efficiency, resilience, and environmental performance. From predictive analytics guiding maintenance schedules to autonomous vehicles transforming construction practices, AI-driven solutions hold promise in addressing the critical needs of modern infrastructure while mitigating its impact on the environment. However, realizing this potential requires navigating challenges such as data privacy, regulatory frameworks, and ethical considerations, while fostering collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. By embracing AI as a transformative force in infrastructure development, stakeholders can pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient built environment for present and future generations.
