Abstract

Increasing healthcare costs is a significant problem in the United States of America. As per the reports shared by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Americans are getting less quality care compared to their average spending on healthcare costs compared to the population of other developed countries [1]. The per capita Healthcare spending in the United States was nearly ten thousand dollars in 2016 [1]. This made the U.S. Healthcare Spending the highest in the developed countries. As per the research from the John Hopkins team, U.S. healthcare spending is increasing at an average rate of 2.6 from 2006 to 2016 [1]. One of the strategic approaches to mitigating the ever-increasing high healthcare costs is preventive care services. Using the data from preventative care services, healthcare organizations, including providers, employers, and insurance companies, can develop strategies that will help improve people's health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. This paper will discuss the benefits of preventative care services and how healthcare organizations can leverage their data to reduce healthcare costs and improve people's health.
