Abstract

This study investigates the effects of replacing fine aggregate in M20 grade concrete with locally available material. The experiment aims to assess the performance of concrete when a portion of fine aggregate is substituted with materials such as locally available material (red soil). Various replacement levels are considered such that 10%,20% and 30% to evaluate the workability properties of the resulting concrete mixes. The experimental program involves laboratory testing, workability and durability tests by compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength. In this study trying to achieve feasibility and effectiveness of using locally available material as fine aggregate replacements in M20(1:1.5:3) grade concrete at optimum percentage of 10% replacement, offering potential benefits in terms of sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
