Cloud computing has brought about a sea change in the data storage, processing, and management industries by providing organisations with scalability and flexibility. Strong cloud security is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain due to the increase in cyber threats. To better understand how AI and ML contribute to cloud security, this chapter dives into their key functions. Organisations may strengthen their cloud infrastructure by using AI and ML to proactively detect, mitigate, and respond to developing cyber threats. Security systems can now identify trends, outliers, and possible dangers in massive datasets with the help of AI-driven methodologies. The ability of ML algorithms to learn from attack data in the past opens the door to the possibility of predicting future threats and creating better defences. Further, identity management is strengthened by AI-enhanced authentication and access control systems, which lessen the likelihood of data breaches and unauthorised access.
