The outbreak of COVID-19 has reshaped the whole world from basic life styles including clothing to education. Because of severe spreading of virus, the Government of India was making possible attempts to stop the outbreak of COVID-19, by temporarily declaring lockdown in the states where it was found to be spread fast. Due to this all the sectors from commercial to service industry were suffering a lot.
All the sectors were oppressively affected including the education sector - service industry, a key sector which contributes most for the development of the Nation. Since then the digitalization came into effect in education sector for continuity of academic year through distance learning by adapting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools. A number of technology driven tools were enforced during the pandemic. The COVID-19 has compelled the educators, trainers and instructors to shift from traditional to digital world i.e., from physical classes to virtual classes. By transforming from traditional learning to virtual learning through digital transformation has helped the education sector for different stakeholders such as students, parents &faculty, to survive and run smoothly during the pandemic.
This paper talks about the digital transformations that have taken place in education sector over the pandemic and discuss in brief various ICT tools and techniques adapted by the educators to ease the learning process in the virtual classes and to bring interactive distance learning.
