Abstract

The objective of this article is to identify the difficulties of implementing CSR in businesses in Togo. Measures of CSR implementation difficulties were measured with 250 SMEs located in the city of Lomé through a survey. The data collected is processed from a factor analysis with SPSS software. The results show that SMEs encounter difficulties in the implementation of CSR. These include difficulties with the lack of resources, the definition of a strategic vision by the manager, and the lack of a system to measure the benefits of CSR, the lack of standard and regulation of CSR practice in Togo. The study showed that there is no standard and regulation of CSR practice for SMEs. SMEs in Togo are not obliged to implement CSR as in other countries where CSR practice and reporting is mandatory.
